Summary
Every time a turkey vulture passes low overhead, and as I live on top of a ridge that happens fairly often, I can't help but mutter, "Not yet, Jack." And I know I'm not alone in my inherent distaste for these creatures.
For example, schools have adopted any number of animal mascots - rams, eagles and mustangs come to mind - but I have yet to hear of any school having a crosstown rivalry with the Vultures.
