Matt Mescher was cool under pressure and calmly sank a pair of free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining to boost Edgewood-Colesburg to a 46-44 victory over Clayton Ridge in the opening game of the Wendy's/American Trust Boys Basketball Classic Saturday at Five Flags Center.

The Eagles built a 44-39 with about 2 1/2 minutes to play but Mescher's hoop inside tied the score at 44-44 with a minute to play.
