U.S. Navy Aircraft Will Be at Dubuque Airport This Week

Summary


A U.S. Navy anti-submarine and maritime surveillance airplane will be at the Dubuque Regional Airport on Wednesday and Thursday, March 2-3.

A Patrol Squadron (VP) 16 "War Eagles" Lockheed Martin P-3 Orion aircraft will arrive in Dubuque on Wednesday afternoon. VP 16 is commanded by Dubuque native Cmdr. Mark Melson, a 1988 Wahlert High School graduate. The crew will conduct an open house for students enrolled in the University of Dubuque's aviation program. Melson plans to visit with Wahlert students on Thursday morning about the Navy and naval aviation. The plane will be open from 10 a.m to noon Thursday before leaving Dubuque at 1 p.m.
