The diminutive Franciscan sister was known for her drive and determination in pursuit of justice for anyone facing hardship or discrimination. She organized public prayer vigils for peace and for ending the death penalty, and ecumenical religious services for unity; she worked with secular and religious social justice groups and served on the city's sexual orientation subcommittee; she helped found a non-profit community housing development organization and worked for ethical choices in health care.
