May is nearly over; I've made it through another uneasy springtime. Yet, despite my uneasiness, the season has proved to be promising in ways I couldn't have imagined only a few weeks ago.
When I was a kid, Mother's Day was great! Dad and I "snuck off" (as though Mom didn't know) to buy special presents. Mom was always thrilled with each and every one despite the fact that my youthful taste in gifts was, frankly, hideous. Like that lime-green purse I got for her when I was 7. U-G-L-Y!
