DES MOINES (AP) - With agreement in place on deep spending cuts, the details of a new $6 billion spending plan will begin to be hammered out this week in a string of budget committees that will begin deciding who will feel the pain.
The new spending targets announced by legislative leaders would cut $133 million beyond what Gov. Chet Culver recommended. The lawmakers' plan would amount to an 8.5 percent reduction from what state spending had been projected to reach.See the full content of this document
