At the Feb. 20 Dubuque City Council meeting regarding the 12- story River Pointe condo- minium project, the gavel came down just as I began to make this point: The destruction by A.J. Spiegel of his own property, as well as city property at Eagle Point, was a tax drain, not a tax asset.
The fact is, Spiegel has no experience when it comes to building a project this size and scope against or on top of a limestone bluff. I realize he bought the property, I realize he will build a condo on the bluff.See the full content of this document
