DES MOINES (AP) - Some immigrant rights groups are seeking to propose an ordinance in Des Moines that would curb local law enforcement involvement in raids on illegal immigrants.
City Councilwoman Christine Hensley said two groups have approached her with a plan that would block local city departments - including police - from conducting raids on immigrants or looking into a person's immigration status.See the full content of this document
