Kevin Rhomberg has thrown his hat into the political ring. And, appropriately, he has chosen a baseball cap.

Rhomberg, who led Dubuque Hempstead to the 1974 Iowa state baseball championship before reaching the Major League level, won the Republican primary last week to run for the Lake County (Ohio) clerk of courts position in November. The 52-year-old received 8,380 votes to defeat Kevin Lister by 2,381 votes.
