Jerrilyn Kruser didn't have to walk through a metal detector to enter the Dubuque County Courthouse last week. She didn't put her purse and other belongings through an X-ray machine, either.

But the Sherrill, Iowa, woman and other courthouse users would be required to do just that if the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors approves recommendations a recently revived security committee will present June 6.
