Quarterback Tirrell Rennie accounted for five touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards for the third straight game as Northern Iowa beat Western Illinois, 38-10, Saturday in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Rennie had touchdown runs of 2, 12 and 35 yards while rushing for 106 yards on 12 carries. He also completed 10 of 14 passes for 142 yards, including TD throws of 30 yards to David Johnson and 4 to Darion Howard. Johnson added 132 yards rushing on 21 carries for the Panthers (2-1).
