Mike Brannon has it right (Dec. 20). The school board needs to slow down the process of purchasing the former FDL/Dubuque Packing Co. property. Fourteen million is a lot of money to spend on such short notice for a not-so-well defined use.
If the school district needs the land for future development, they need to consider other options, such as the purchase of cheaper land elsewhere, or the use of eminent domain to acquire property.See the full content of this document
