CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - If Illinois' three running backs stay healthy, they could give opposing coaches some nightmares this season.

Pierre Thomas, E.B. Halsey and Rashard Mendenhall combined for 36 carries, 283 yards and five touchdowns Saturday as the Illini snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 42-17 win over Eastern Illinois.
