West Nile Case Confirmed; Portage County Woman Reportedly has Recovered

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A woman from Portage County became the first human case of West Nile virus this year in Wisconsin, state health officials said.

The woman, who was not identified further, developed fever, headache, muscle and joint aches, nausea, vomiting, rash, and fatigue. She fully recovered without requiring hospitalization, the Department of Health and Family Services said. They did not say when she contracted the virus.
