River Museum Exceeds Attendance Estimates

Summary


The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium drew 300,750 visitors in its first year, surpassing the prediction by officials of between 230,000 and 270,000 visitors in the first year.

The $57 million museum and aquarium facility opened June 28, 2003, in the Port of Dubuque. It has attracted visitors from all 50 states and two dozen foreign countries, ranging from Australia to the Ukraine.
