City Changes Motor Fuel Tax Designation; City Will Use About One- Half of Mft Funds to Pay Other Road-Related Bills

The City of East Dubuque will be using about one-half of its share of Illinois Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) to pay for such things as the street light bill and roadway salt. The action to change the designated use of the funds was taken at the Feb. 7 city council meeting.

"If we use city money instead of MFT to pay for street replacement/repairs, we can do it a lot cheaper," said City Manager Al Griffiths.
