Mentors Reach Across Ages; Program Puts Teenagers in the Middle of Helping and Being Helped

Summary


The idea is simple, yet effective. Young people who need extra attention help those younger than themselves and are, in turn, helped by older adults. They get a chance to use their skills and learn new social strengths.

The Across Ages program is relatively new. The first session started last fall at St. Mark Community Center and a second session began last month. It is funded by a state public health grant through Helping Services for Northeast Iowa.
