In the days before the assault on Dubuque County Attorney Ralph Potter, Michael Mayton talked about a plan to seriously injure Potter if the jury returned a guilty verdict, according to court documents.
Mayton, 41, was charged Friday with felony willful injury in connection with the attack on Potter that occurred after a jury found Mayton guilty of second-degree murder for the August 2009 stabbing death of his friend, 38-year-old David Tate.
