Maybe this bailout wasn't right.
All the rushing to bring this bailout measure to a vote was reminiscent of some of the votes taken right after 9/11. The country was in crisis. Citizens were looking to Congress to make them feel safer. Legislators felt compelled to take some action. But as we learned in the months and years since 9/11, legislation written in the heat of the moment can be reactionary. It is not always sound policy.
