DES MOINES - Iowa lawmakers are planning to stay in motels, postpone their return to jobs and arrange for friends and family to watch their farms as it has become clear the Legislature will not adjourn by Friday as scheduled.
Lingering disagreements over potential tax cuts, aid to schools and whether to approve two-year budgets will take at least two more weeks to work out, legislators said.
