DAVENPORT (AP) - A bankruptcy judge on Wednesday questioned whether a $37 million settlement between the Davenport Diocese and victims of clergy abuse can release parishes from liability for sex- abuse cases.
Judge Lee Jackwig refused to approve a disclosure statement that explains the diocese's reorganization plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
