Cable franchise fighters The following municipalities formed a coalition to argue the Federal Communications Commission's ruling on cable franchise rules at the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals: Anne Arundel County, Md.; Boston; Carroll County, Md.; Champaign, Ill.; Charles County, Md.; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Dubuque; Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, and the Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y.; Laredo, Texas; Los Angeles; Milwaukee, Wis.; Mission Hills, Kan.; Montgomery County, Md.; Normal, Ill.; Phoenix; St. Louis, Mo.; Summit County Telecommunications Consortium, Colo.; Tampa, Fla.; White Plains, N.Y. and Wilmington, Del. The law firm of Martin and Van Eaton, based in Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, Calif., is forming a similar coalition interested in appealing the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
