Being a Jew in Dubuque on the high holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur might be like being a Christian on Mars at Christmas.
Rosh Hashana, the beginning of the Jewish New Year, begins this year at sundown Wednesday. It is the beginning of 10 days of soul searching and repentance.
