OK, here's how we're going to fix the lagging U.S. economy - read carefully: We're going to borrow a whole bunch of money from China and give it to Americans. Then Americans will go out and buy things, most of which will have been made in China. That's the plan to help our economy, remember. Boosting China's economy is just a fringe benefit. For China.

President Bush last week signed into law the stimulus package, which Congress passed in the blink of an eye. Does anyone else hear, "Election Year"? Most taxpayers will receive a check of up to $600 - $1,200 for couples, with an additional $300 for each child. The key to making the windfall become an economic stimulus is that Americans must go out and spend the money.
