Tri-state area resident Rich Crandall is back home in the land of the free after a prolonged tour in a war-ravaged country attempting to claim its own independence.
Crandall's Illinois National Guard unit, the 333rd Military Police, based in Freeport, Ill., recently wrapped up a 14-month deployment in Iraq - a stint that took the unit into the mouth of the short-lived war, through the streets of a violent peace and inside the gates of a notorious prison.See the full content of this document
