EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - An acrimonious corporate takeover won't slow a massive expansion plan and historic technological transformation at Royster-Clark's East Dubuque fertilizer plant, company officials say.

Canadian feed and fertilizer giant Agrium Inc. acquired Virginia- based Royster-Clark last month in a half-billion dollar bid that followed a three-month power struggle. Agrium said it hopes the acquisition will "create the premier North American agricultural retail company."
