The Elkader City Council has set 7 p.m Monday as the date for a public hearing on a proposed $3,113,065 budget for the coming fiscal year. A tax rate of $15.78 per $1,000 of assessed value is included in the proposed budget. This year's budget is $4,076,899, with a tax rate of $18.45.
