CASCADE, Iowa - Nick Hofer hates to leave a good thing behind, but he really has no other choice.

Hofer and four Dubuque County teammates - Brett Featherston, Adam McDermott, Beau Ellingson and Nathan Roling - will not play in this weekend's American Legion state tournament in Ottumwa. All have been selected to play in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Series in Iowa City.
