SINSINAWA, Wis.- The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 2, for two workshops on drums at Sinsinawa Mound.

During "Gourd Art IV: Making a Nontunable Drum," 1-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, participants will transform a gourd into a drum. Terri Schmit will lead the class in sanding and decorating a gourd and covering it with a goatskin drum head. The fee is $75, including materials. Schmit founded the Wisconsin Gourd Society and organizes its annual spring festival at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Madison, Wis.
