INDIANAPOLIS - A team from Davenport, Iowa, won the Midwest Region Tournament on Sunday at the Ruben F. Glick Little League Baseball Center and became the eighth to earn a berth in the 2004 Little League Baseball World Series.
Davenport Northwest Little League overcame a 4-1 deficit to defeat Robbinsdale (Minn.), 5-4, in the championship game. Davenport Northwest starting pitcher Trevor Kenyon threw a complete game with eight strikeouts, and scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Midwest Region champions finished the six-team tournament with a 5-1 record. Their one loss was to Minnesota in the first game of the regional tournament.See the full content of this document
