IOWA CITY (AP) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chet Culver denounced his Republican rival Friday for voting against a bill to ease federal funding restrictions on stem cell research.

Culver also said he would push to repeal a 2002 state law that bans many forms of stem cell research and invest $10 million to create the Iowa Center for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
