JANESVILLE (AP) - Former Rock County Coroner Karen Gilbertson has been sentenced to two years of probation, with six months to be spent in jail with work-release privileges, on charges stemming from her use of prescription drugs from death scenes.

The jail time was ordered Friday by Lafayette County Judge William Johnston, sitting in Rock County Circuit Court, despite recommendations of prosecution and defense lawyers that 18 months of probation would be sufficient.
