PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Prairie du Chien Police Chief Mike King is retiring. His last official day will be Wednesday, June 30.

King has served as police chief for the past 14 years, but he was placed on temporary suspension on June 1 pending an internal investigation. City Administrator Aaron Kramer conducted an internal investigation and audit of the Prairie du Chien Scholarship Fund and the Prairie du Chien Canine Fund, looking into what he termed "financial discrepancies."
