MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Accounts have been established at DuTrac Community Credit Union, Iowa Bank, Maquoketa State Bank and US Bank to accept donations for area businesses affected by the recent Maquoketa fire and for the area firefighters, according to Stacy Driscoll, Chamber/Economic Development director.

The chamber also is coordinating a "Love for Firemen" Banquet on Friday, Feb. 29, for all the responding firefighters and their spouses as one way to express the community's gratitude for their efforts Saturday. Ninety percent of the firemen who responded to Maquoketa's call for assistance are volunteers, Driscoll said.
