Aaron Dean, speech and theater teacher at Dubuque Senior High School, was surprised at how excited students were to perform Shakespeare. It's not often that local high school theater groups tackle the best-known playwright in the world.

"The students pushed for it," he said. More than 50 kids auditioned early in September. A cast of 30 will present the comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Nov. 3 and 4.
