CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - The local chamber of commerce is rethinking plans to sell four valuable paintings in a New York City auction after complaints that the art should remain in Cedar Rapids.

The Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce had planned to sell the paintings - two Grant Woods, a Marvin Cone and a Norman Rockwell. But news of the chamber's plans prompted complaints that buyers would almost certainly remove the paintings from the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, where they have been since 1983.
