BELLEVUE, Iowa - After 17 years of owning and operating its own cable television system, the city of Bellevue is at a crossroads. Just as the city is trying to lure back lost customers with high- tech improvements, it must raise its cable rates.
Wednesday night, a divided City Council voted 3-1 to raise cable rates $5 to $55 per month. The extra revenue is needed to pay for $400,000 of new equipment and to pay off the system's debt of $3.2 million (including the new purchases).See the full content of this document
