Summary
Dear Jerry: The recent Minnesota bridge collapse is a horrible tragedy and scared a lot of people. Although I know how to swim, I am semi-phobic about driving across bridges (which, unfortunately, I have to do frequently) and driving next to lakes, rivers, bays, etc.
The thought of being trapped in my car underwater makes me feel panicky. I don't have the confidence to believe I can unbuckle my seat belt at just the right moment, get the door or window opened, etc. I'm wondering whether I should keep a large rock in my car should I get stuck and need to break the windshield.
