CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A fourth Dubuque resident has been convicted of attempting to manufacture methamphetamine after a search of a house in rural Ryan uncovered a meth lab.

On Monday, a U.S. District Court Judge Linda R. Reade announced that Terry L. Mess, 49, of Dubuque, pleaded guilty Oct. 28 to one count of attempting to manufacture meth. Mess was indicted Aug. 24. He previously was convicted of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy to manufacture meth in 1999.
